The Aquarium of the Pacific invites all foodies and friends of the fish to its annual Sea Fare event on Saturday, October 19.

Dr. Schubel joined the Aquarium of the Pacific in 2002. He will remain in his current role while the Aquarium’s Board of Directors conducts a search for his replacement.

Five American avocet chicks hatched at the Aquarium between June 23 and 25. The chicks and their parents are on view in the lower enclosure in the Guam Kingfisher aviary near Shark Lagoon.

Found only in the northern part of the Gulf of California, Mexico, the vaquita porpoise is the world’s most endangered marine mammal. Approximately ten vaquitas remain, according to a report by the International Committee for the Recovery of the Vaquita.
