The Aquarium’s Seals and Sea Lions Habitat in the Southern California/Baja Gallery is home to harbor seals and California sea lions. Shows are held twice daily, where visitors can learn more about the animals and observe as they respond to trainer’s cues. Visitors can also schedule an animal encounter with a sea lion and participate in a feeding and training session.

Exhibit Features

You can view these marine mammals underwater from the Seals and Sea Lions tunnel on the first floor in the Southern California/Baja Gallery, get a water-level view with shaded amphitheater seating off the stairway between the first and second floor outdoors, and a top-level view on the second floor next to the Ray Touchpool. A curved viewing window at this level allows visitors to come face-to-face with the animals.

The exhibit features rockwork and a coastal seascape mural as well as windows and platforms that provide visibility of the animals and presenters. It contains about 182,000 gallons of water.
