Photographers Night 2021 Grand Prize Winner Credit: Rebecca Li

Professional and amateur photographers are invited to capture the Aquarium’s wildlife during exclusive “photographers only” hours.

Meet vendors, test new equipment, attend an intro workshop, and meet other wildlife photo enthusiasts.

Now is your chance to take the photos you have always wanted. On this night only, the Aquarium is available to photographers for the sole purpose of getting their dream photos without having to worry about the general public either getting in their shots or being bothered by their equipment.

Take your time, set up your shots, and enjoy. In order to create the best environment for our photographers, we will be limiting ticket sales. We highly encourage you to purchase your tickets ahead of time to guarantee a spot or you may be turned away at the door.

Normally, lights begin to dim as 9:00 p.m. approaches, but on this night, the lights will remain on in most of the exhibits in order to provide the best opportunities for photography.*

Please check back for contest information.

Visit our Aquarium Safety page for information on COVID-19 guidelines.

Equipment

Our partner Tuttle Cameras will have limited items for sale, such as memory cards, rubber lens hoods, and other small items. Tamron will have a limited amount of Canon, Nikon, and Sony-mount lenses available for checking out. Equipment loans are on a first-come, first-served basis and we ask that you rotate to allow others the opportunity to borrow.

Introductory Workshop

6:00 p.m.

The Introductory Photography Workshop will be offered at this event and will be mandatory. Workshop will take place in our Honda Pacific Visions Theater. This introductory workshop will consist of tips, tricks, and guidelines for the night. You must attend prior to entering the rest of the Aquarium for the rest of the night. You will not be allowed to enter prior to your scheduled workshop to shoot in the Aquarium. If you visit during the day, you will need to line up outside at the designated area after 5:30 p.m. for entry into the workshop prior to attending the event.

The coffee cart will be offering drinks and snacks for purchase throughout the early part of the night.
