Aquarium 2025 Highlights
From saving species to serving our community, the Aquarium achieved many accomplishments this past year.

Thanks to the support of donors, members, guests, staff, and our community, the non-profit Aquarium of the Pacific experienced an amazing year. Here are a few of the many accomplishments:
Welcomed international conservation and animal welfare leader Jeffrey Flocken as our new President and CEO.
Released the first-of-its-kind Marine Species Report Card.
Opened Our Living Coastline exhibit.
Raised over $700,000 to support our mission at the Blue Whale Gala.
Launched the UC Climate Stewards certification course.
Awarded the Ivolou R. Corston Volunteer Service Award to Mike Seckington.
Announced the 2025 cohort of CELP Scholars and winners of the High Tide Student Film Festival.
Partnered with the City of Long Beach to launch the Jellyfishbot to help clean trash from local waterways and engage the community.
Rehabilitated and released tidewater gobies impacted by the January fires.
Rescued and released two green sea turtles.
Contributed to research on the giant pink star.
Rehabilitated and released California red-legged tadpoles that were impacted by winter storms.
Rescued and released an olive ridley sea turtle.
Announced partnership with ReShark to help wild zebra sharks.
Received the Wayfinder Recognition at LBUSD’s Partners & Pathways Celebration for supporting student workforce readiness.
Received the Unity & Partnership Award from Mujeres de la Tierra.
