Due to new Safer-at-Home orders, the Aquarium has fully closed to the public for at least three weeks starting Sunday, December 6, 2020. We were all hoping for a better holiday season. For some relief during this challenging time, we invite you to enjoy our Virtual Offerings. Also, please help us with whatever donation you can afford.
Now Accepting Applications for African American Scholar Program
The Aquarium will award $50,000 each year to support African American students who demonstrate a commitment to studies related to careers in the aquarium field.
Aquarium Announces New CEO
The Aquarium of the Pacific has announced the appointment of Dr. Peter Kareiva as its new president and CEO beginning on August 1, 2020. Current President and CEO Dr. Jerry R. Schubel will retire from the Aquarium on July 31, 2020.
Aquarium Announces New Scholarship
On June 8, World Ocean Day, the Aquarium announced a new scholarship. The Aquarium’s Board Chair Kathleen Eckert made the announcement in a video.

The new program includes both on-demand videos and activities for all ages and a schedule of interactive live programs with Aquarium educators.
