Marilyn Padilla

Marilyn Padilla joined the Aquarium of the Pacific as a volunteer in 1999.

In 2000 she was hired as public relations coordinator and worked to establish the Aquarium’s first Hispanic Advisory Board as well as the Baja Splash and International Children’s Day festivals. She launched the cross-departmental Hispanic Service Excellence Team (HSET) at the Aquarium in 2009. A graduate of California State University, Long Beach, Padilla received her bachelor’s degree in public relations and a minor in graphic design. She is the recipient of an award from the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors for her work with the LA County Child & Family Services Division. She is a regular spokesperson on Aquarium programs and animals for Spanish-language media outlets, including on international, national, and local programs.
