JJ Soski
Senior Aquarist
J.J. Soski is a senior aquarist in the Aquarium’s Northern Pacific Gallery.
Soski cares for a wide variety of cold-water marine invertebrates and fish and specializes in marine algae. She is particularly interested in local kelp species and participates in conservation projects for kelp, endangered white abalone, and rockfish. She is the lead for the Aquarium’s bull kelp genetic preservation project. Kelp forests protect coastlines and absorb carbon. The Aquarium is participating in this project focused on preserving genetic diversity of bull kelp to help facilitate future kelp forest restoration projects. She has a B.S.S. in marine and freshwater conservation from Ohio University.
