Aaron Hovis
Manager of Quarantine and Acquisition
Aaron Hovis is the Aquarium’s manager of quarantine and acquisition, with particular expertise in Southern California fish and invertebrates.
With his quarantine responsibilities, Hovis manages a team of aquarists who are responsible for new fish and invertebrates, including those that need treatment. With regards to acquisitions, he oversees the Aquarium’s collection plan, including through raising species, institutional sharing, and field operations. Hovis has twelve years of experience working as a biologist and a B.S. in Marine Biology from Humboldt State University.
