Susie Vanderlip discusses the lifecycle of monarch caterpillars and butterflies, from eating milkweed to selecting the location for their chrysalis. She also talks about what plants and conditions will attract monarchs to your home garden.

Vanderlip is a monarch butterfly citizen scientist, assisting in Monarch Health Initiative research. She raises monarch butterflies in Orange, California, studying, photographing, videotaping, tagging, speaking and writing about monarch caterpillars and butterflies. She is also the creator of a storybook about monarchs called The Story of Chester. She has earned the Certified Speaking Professional designation from the National Speakers Association and has been a featured guest on FOX News Live.
