Aquarium Vice President of Husbandry Perry Hampton was one of three Aquarium staff members who recently participated in a project with the SECORE (Sexual Coral Reproduction) Foundation and other partners aimed at studying coral reproduction and restoration of damaged reefs in Guam. Hampton provided an overview of Guam’s coral reefs and the threats facing those and many other reefs worldwide, and how recent advances in the study of coral reproduction could help restore reefs affected by threats such as climate change, El Niño, pollution, ship strikes, and diseases.
