With so many opportunities to touch animals and interact with Aquarium staff, your field trip is sure to be a fun and educational opportunity.

Our Living Coastline exhibit facade

Discovery Labs

Ever wonder what a sea anemone feels like? Find out at one of the Aquarium’s Discovery Labs.

Students will get a hands-on experience of tidepool animals including sea stars, anemones, sea cucumbers, urchins and more at the Coastal Corner and Our Living Coastline. At Shark Lagoon, students will feel both tropical and local species of sharks and rays. While at the Aquarium’s Discovery Labs, students will use the Aquarium’s two finger touch rule to safely and gently interact with our animals.

Educational Shows

Learn more about our exhibits by attending an Educational Show.

Students will enjoy hearing SCUBA divers talk about the exhibits or mammalogists explain a training session. Shows are held throughout the day at Blue Cavern, Seals and Sea Lions, Sea Otters, and the Tropical Reef. Pick up a schedule from the Information Desk for show times and locations or plan ahead by downloading our app. You can also explore our Visitor Guide.

Ocean Theater

There are fascinating films about some of the Aquarium residents playing throughout the day at Ocean Theater.

Free movies are available to you and your students at various show times. Check the sign above the theater entrance for program listings and times.

Aquarium Scavenger Hunt

Your students can claim a free surprise while they explore the Aquarium and learn facts about our animals and exhibits.

Students can emboss their Aquarium Visitor Guide at all eight embossing stations located throughout the Aquarium. They’ll receive a free surprise by showing their completed guide at Member Services, while supplies last.
