New Webcams: Visit the Aquarium from Your Computer

The Aquarium of the Pacific has launched three new webcams, allowing visitors to the Aquarium’s website to get a fish-eye view inside Blue Cavern, Tropical Reef, and the Tropical Gallery’s Sex Change exhibit.

On April 7, the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach welcomed five rescued Magellanic penguins, becoming the first penguins in the Aquarium’s collections. Experts believe climate change may be causing Magellanic penguins to travel farther in search of food, stranding them outside their usual range.

Aquarium’s Sea Otter Charlie to Participate in Auditory Study

In April one of the Aquarium of the Pacific’s five southern sea otters will travel north to Santa Cruz, California to participate in an auditory study. This study is being conducted by researchers at the Pinniped Cognition & Sensory Systems Laboratory based at the Long Marine Lab at the University of California, Santa Cruz.
