Kindergarten - 2nd Grade

Ocean habitats and unique adaptations are the focus of these programs, and most include touch time where students will experience a sea star, anemone, shark, and other tidepool animals. Please see the list of programs below for more specific information.

Animal Exploration
Get your hands wet in this 30-minute, educator-led animal touch experience. After a brief introduction, students will explore the unique characteristics of our classroom tidepool animals and even have a chance to touch them.

Sharky’s Adventure
Sharks are cool! And the more you know about them, the more amazing they are. Did you know that sharks come in all shapes and sizes and some can be as big as a city bus? Join Sharky as he goes on an adventure to learn what sharks eat, how they find their food and what their skin feels like in this exciting class. As Sharky explores the world of sharks, students will gain a better appreciation for these magnificent predators and even get a chance to touch one!

Wigglie Squigglies
They may be spineless, but there is power in numbers! Most animals in the ocean do not have backbones. Join us as we examine jiggling jellies, spiny sea stars, and the outrageous eight-legged octopus, just a few of the many invertebrates that call the Pacific home. By taking part in exciting activities, students will discover how some of these spineless creatures adapt to their watery world.

The Story of Splashy
Watch out! The ocean is full of hungry creatures, including Snaggletooth, the hungriest of them all. Help our imaginary friend Splashy protect herself from Snaggletooth by changing her shape, size and color and giving her all sorts of special adaptations. Meet real ocean animals that use the same adaptations you give Splashy in this interactive program.

Ocean Rangers: Marine Mammal Mystery | Grades 1-2
Join training officer Sergeant Sargo for the adventure of a lifetime. After learning about marine mammals, students are enlisted by the Sergeant to track a mysterious group of marine mammals along their migration route. Help Sergeant Sargo discover what kinds of mammals make up this strange group of animals and why they are heading down the coast.
