Aquarium’s Straw Cops Follows Seymour the Shark and Captain Quinn as They Stop the Spread of Single-Use Plastic

The Aquarium of the Pacific is premiering a video for National Skip the Straw Day on February 22 called Straw Cops.

February 22, 2019

This buddy cop movie parody stars Seymour Shark and Captain Quinn, two of the Aquarium’s beloved Pacific Pals characters.

Straw Cops follows our heroes as they track down a gang of nefarious plastic bootleggers trying to spread single-use straws and environmental devastation. Fortunately, Seymour and Captain Quinn are able to reform the plastic purveyors and help the public choose better alternatives along the way.

The full video is available to view on YouTube.

Straw Cops was written, filmed, and edited entirely in-house by the Aquarium’s education department staff. The Aquarium has joined with twenty-one other aquariums across the country in a campaign to raise awareness about plastic pollution in our ocean, rivers, streams, and lakes. The campaign asks those who don’t need plastic straws, for example, to accommodate a medical condition or disability, to skip them. To read more about these efforts, visit the Aquarium’s website.
