Aquarium’s Annual Sea Fare Fundraiser Returns as a Virtual Event on October 17, 2020

Viewers can bid on silent auction items, get an up-close look at Aquarium animals, and hear conservation and animal care stories with Aquarium staff members.

WHAT: The Aquarium of the Pacific will host its annual Sea Fare fundraiser as a virtual event on Saturday, October 17, 2020. Foodies and friends of the fish can join in from anywhere and watch from the comfort of home while celebrating the Aquarium’s mission of ocean conservation education. Attendees will have the chance to bid on items in the silent auction, get an up-close look at Aquarium animals like sea otters and penguins, listen to inspirational conservation and animal care stories, and meet some of the Aquarium’s dedicated staff members.

Bidding in the silent auction will get an early start on Wednesday, October 14, and close at 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 17. Items in the silent auction include exclusive VIP animal encounters and special Aquarium tours. Virtual Sea Fare begins at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, and the Fund-a-Need, Adopt an Animal, and donations opportunities close on Sunday, October 18, at 5:00 p.m.

Throughout the event, viewers can make a gift to support the Aquarium and help the institution recover and grow from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Proceeds will benefit the nonprofit Aquarium of the Pacific, which is dedicated to conserving and building nature and nature’s services by building the interactions between and among peoples. The Aquarium continues to offer free educational resources for everyone through its Online Academy. This programming was launched at the start of the pandemic to reach kids and adult at home.
