Aquarium of the Pacific Safety

We welcome everyone back to the Aquarium of the Pacific! The Aquarium of the Pacific places safety as its highest priority.

To ensure we are meeting and exceeding all health and safety guidelines, we have set up the following protocols:

Everyone must have a timed ticket or online reservation before coming to the Aquarium.

Those with a coupon must present the coupon and pay at the ticket window upon arrival.

We request that transactions be paid via card rather than cash.

If you are unable to visit at your designated time, your ticket will be good from one year from the date of purchase. When you are ready to return, you must make a free reservation.

Everyone aged two and over must wear a face covering that covers their nose and mouth for entry to the Aquarium and at all times, except when eating.

Those who do not have a face covering will have an option to purchase one. Those who do not follow this policy will be asked to leave. If you have a medical condition that prevents you from wearing a mask, please inform the staff member checking you in.

All visitors will have their temperature checked before entry.

Those with a temperature of 100.4F and above and those in their party will not be allowed to enter.

Visitors who are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms such as sore throat, cough, shortness of breath, fever, or recent loss taste or smell are asked to visit another time.

The maximum party size is six to enter and travel within the Aquarium.

All family units will be required to maintain a minimum distance of six feet at all times from staff and other visitors.

Adults will be responsible for ensuring their children follow this rule.

Everyone must follow all posted signs and directions from the numerous staff stationed throughout the Aquarium regarding social distancing, traffic flow, closed areas, and other safety protocols.

We are not able to store guest items at this time.

There will be no Aquarium Re-entry.

Numerous hand sanitizing stations will be located throughout the Aquarium and near any touch area. We ask that everyone use them after touching a surface.

Aquarium staff will be constantly sanitizing all touched surfaces throughout the day.

Elevators will be limited to one family per use.

Food service will be available following government guidelines.

Touchless water bottle refill stations will be available.

Various areas will be temporarily closed and several programs will be on hiatus.

All indoor areas are closed. Open areas are as follows:

Shows, mascot appearances, animal meet-and-greets, and behind-the-scenes tours have temporarily suspended to prevent gatherings. Please check back for updates on re-openings.

Additional protocols may be added or amended. Those who do not follow the safety protocols are subject to removal.

By purchasing a ticket, making a reservation and/or entering the Aquarium of the Pacific, you agree to hold harmless the Aquarium of the Pacific, its staff, Board of Directors, and the City of Long Beach from any resulting injuries, illnesses, or other inherent risks to you and your family, including potential exposure to COVID-19.

Seniors and those with underlying health conditions are encouraged to reserve an early arrival time.
