The Aquarium will host a free screening of the documentary film Beyond the Brink followed by a panel discussion with the filmmaker and water experts.

Beyond the Brink is the latest in The Chronicles Group’s series of documentaries dealing with public policy and national security issues. It presents a possible future world that no longer supplies enough food or water to sustain its inhabitants and the inevitable impact on national and international security. Jim Thebaut is the film’s creator, director, and producer.

Beyond the Brink focuses on California’s San Joaquin Valley and the ever-increasing difficulties for farmers and the local produce industry due to drought and water scarcity. The film examines a multitude of solutions and technologies currently being formulated, invented, and utilized in modern day agriculture.

Following the screening, Aquarium President and CEO Jerry Schubel will moderate a panel discussion with speakers Thebaut, Director of the UCLA Water Technology Research Center Yoram Cohen, and consultant and water expert David Nahai.
