In celebration of Bird LA Day, the Aquarium of the Pacific in collaboration with Harbor Breeze Cruises will highlight seabirds of LA County during its daily whale watch. Birders and bird enthusiasts are invited to join the Aquarium’s naturalists in spotting and photographing the seabirds that live and migrate off our coast during this two-and-a-half hour excursion. Birds that have been spotted aboard these yacht trips have included terns, shearwaters, cormorants, pelicans, and rare birds, such as the Brown Booby, which has been spotted a few times over the last six months. Participants can also visit the Aquarium to see and photograph birds from around the world, including the rare Guam Kingfisher, Magellanic Penguins, puffins, Crested Auklets, Australian lorikeets, and shorebirds native to local wetlands. Boat excursion is weather dependent.
