Whale Sightings Going Strong This Winter 
In January whale watchers spotted gray whales, fin whales, and even orcas. In partnership with Harbor Breeze Cruises, the Aquarium of the Pacific offers daily whale watching cruises that launch from the dock right in front of the Aquarium.

U.S. EPA Awards High School Students for Efforts to Protect Whales
In a press conference held at the Aquarium, Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lisa Jackson presented the President’s Environmental Youth Award to six students from Oak Park High School for their efforts in raising awareness about ship strikes on migrating whales in the Santa Barbara Channel.
