Dirk Burcham is employed by the California Coastkeeper Alliance (http://www.cacoastkeeper.org) where he is the project manager of the Southern California Kelp Restoration Project. Burcham has over twenty-five years of experience in the fields of biology, project management, and business. He has worked as a professional wildlife biologist and is the author of the Key Species Monitoring Protocols of the Catalina Conservancy Divers. He is a member of the Board of Scientific Advisors for Reef Check California and is a member of the California Coastkeeper Alliance Diving Control Board. Additionally, Burcham is an active volunteer diver at the Aquarium of the Pacific and an AAUS-certified scientific diver. Burcham received a bachelor’s degree in zoology from San Diego State University; an master’s degree in Wildlife Management from Humboldt State University; and is a certified wildlife biologist through The Wildlife Society.
