Autumn Festival

A Celebration of Asian Culture

Delve into the arts, cuisines, cultures, and marine environments of Asia during the Aquarium of the Pacific’s thirteenth annual Autumn Festival.

The Autumn Festival highlights the traditions and cultures of Japan, China, Korea, and the Philippines through a weekend of learning opportunities and family entertainment celebrating the rich diversity of Asian and Asian American cultures. The festival will feature traditional crafts, music, dance, demonstrations, cultural arts exhibits, ethnic cuisine, storytelling, and much more. Move to the sounds of taiko drumming, watch dancers, acrobats, and martial arts demonstrations. Try your hand at origami, and purchase hand-made crafts.

Heritage Award Presentation / Sunday at 1:40 p.m.

Cold Tofu

The Aquarium is presenting the Heritage Award to Cold Tofu, the nation’s longest-running Asian-American comedy improv troupe. Founded in 1981, Cold Tofu is dedicated to promoting diverse images of Asian Pacific Americans through comedy and developing multiethnic talent through education and performance. Cold Tofu’s members perform improv shows regularly in Little Tokyo in Downtown Los Angeles, as well as at various events for community organizations, colleges, museums, and comedy showcases. The organization has also developed youth workshops with a focus on leadership and team building. Cold Tofu has donated performances, and its members have volunteered as emcees throughout the Asian Pacific American community for community organizations including Nisei Week Foundation, Tofu Festival, Asians for Miracle Marrow Matches, Japanese American National Museum, Japanese American Cultural and Community Center, Korean Cultural Center and Asian Professional Exchange. Accepting the award on behalf of Cold Tofu is Artistic Director Jully Lee.
