The Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach is hosting its second annual 5K Run/Walk. The scenic course will take participants around the Aquarium and surrounding shoreline area. Admission to the Aquarium is included in the registration fee. Registrants will receive a bib, timing tag, goody bag, ticket to the Aquarium (valid September 7-8 only), and a T-shirt (for those that pre-register only). All finishers will receive a medal. Please note that pre-registration is online only.

Registration:
The online pre-registration deadline has been extended to 3:00 p.m. on Friday, September 6. After that, late registration will be onsite at the Aquarium during race weekend. Late registration is available at the Aquarium on Saturday, September 7 from 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. and on race day, Sunday, September 8 from 5:30 a.m. - 6:30 a.m SHARP. Please note that t-shirts are not guaranteed for late registrants.
Packet Pick-Up:
Packet/bib pick-up will be in front of the Aquarium on Saturday, September 7 from 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. and on race day, Sunday, September 8 from 5:30 a.m. - 6:30 a.m SHARP. Please bring confirmation of payment. Aquarium members must show their membership card to verify their receipt of the member rate. Goody bags will also be available and will include dental health kit, coupons, and more. We apologize, but there is no bag check available at this race. Each race participant will receive one Aquarium admission ticket which must be used on September 7 or 8 only. The Aquarium is open from 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Course Description:
Starts along Rainbow Harbor, 400 yards south-east of the Aquarium; runners/walkers will travel along the waterfront through Shoreline Village, turn around at the end of the marina and return back towards Shoreline Village, where participants will cover the waterfront again and finish just outside the Aquarium.

Parking:
Located just across the street from the Aquarium in the parking structure. Parking fees will be charged upon exit. Be sure to show your Aquarium ticket stub for the $8 Aquarium rate.
Please note there will be a parking detour due to the Long Beach Triathlon.
Directions from 710 South:
- As the 710 freeway ends, stay in the far left lane towards downtown.
- Exit on Broadway (exit is on left)
- Right on Magnolia (the third light)
- After crossing Ocean Boulevard, Magnolia becomes the Queensway Bridge.
- Stay right and immediately exit off
- Turn left at stop sign.
- Follow street as it loops left under Queensway Bridge. The Aquarium will appear on your right.
- Make a left into Aquarium structure
Directions using side streets:
- Head west on E Ocean Blvd
- Right on Cherry Ave
- Left on 3rd St
- Left on Magnolia
- After crossing Ocean Boulevard, Magnolia becomes the Queensway Bridge.
- Stay right and immediately exit off
- Turn left at stop sign.
- Follow street as it loops left under Queensway Bridge. The Aquarium will appear on your right.
- Make a left into Aquarium structure
Starting Line Rules:
Pets are allowed at the 5K, but must be on a leash and must start with their owners at the back of the line. Please note that animals are not allowed at the Aquarium with the exception of registered service animals. Parents with strollers must also start at the back of the line. Navigate safely through the course as you will be going through several narrow locations; slower runners/joggers start just behind the front group, which consists of 5-7 minute per mile runners. Look out for young children who start with a sprint. Please make your way to the start by 7:15 a.m.

Located outside of the Aquarium as well as the race turnaround at the Marine Bureau.

Awards and Results:
Results will be posted at the late registration booth between approximately 9:20 a.m-9:30 a.m., just as the last walker crosses the line; special winner medals will be given during the award ceremony at 9:30 a.m. to the top three participants in each division, in addition to the finisher medallions. A $500.00 cash prize will be awarded to the top male and female overall winners. Official results will be posted online the evening of the event.
Timing:
Pacific Coast Race Timing-Aztlan Athletics will oversee the course timing. Finishers bib tags will be scanned and recorded at the finish line.
