Meet Aquarium Animals Up Close And Watch As They Interact With Animal Care Staff In Weekly Virtual Encounters
Virtual Animal Encounters allow viewers to tune in from home and see the Aquarium’s animal care staff feed and interact with the seals, sea lions, and sea otters
WHAT: Ever wondered what it is like to work at an aquarium caring for marine mammals? Now is your chance. The Aquarium of the Pacific is launching a new virtual experience that will take you behind the scenes to meet its animals and animal care staff during a feeding and care session. Through Virtual Animal Encounters you can get up close with a seal, sea lion, or sea otter.
Viewers can meet an animal up close and watch as they participate in a training session that is part of their top-quality care at the Aquarium and allows for health checks and mental and physical exercise. Viewers will hear from the animal care staff as they take care of the animals inside of their habitats and have an opportunity to ask questions.
Two Virtual Animal Encounters are currently available. Virtual Seal and Sea Lion Encounters take place on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 11:15 a.m. Virtual Sea Otter Encounters are available on Thursdays and Sundays at 2:00 p.m.
Tickets are $10 per household, and bookings for each program must be made at least 48 hours prior to the start time. You can visit aquariumofpacific.org for more information and reservations. Purchases help support the Aquarium during its current public closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic in compliance with health orders for aquariums and zoos in the region.
