Guest Services Supervisor

Full Time, Benefits Eligible

Reporting to the Guest Services Manager, the Guest Services Supervisor is part of a supervisory team charged with creating and managing a team of over 70-100 dedicated part-time employees and volunteers. The Guest Services Supervisor provides exceptional experiences, for guests at each of the following key spots, 7 days a week: ticket sales, information desk, member entry point, main entrance, main exit, theaters, lorikeet forest, will call, group (including school) arrivals, costume characters, and special events.

The Guest Services Supervisor’s Responsibilities Include:

  • Partner with Guest Services Manager to ensure smooth daily operations
  • Participate in recruitment, hiring, training, and general development of Guest Services staff.
  • Be a model of high quality, guest friendly service for the Guest Services staff. Add elements of comradery and fun to the daily operation. Inspire others to perform at their best.
  • Ensure high standards of quality
  • Maintain Aquarium and guest property
  • Operate Gateway Ticketing System and troubleshoot when needed
  • Ensure validity of membership database
  • Follow and uphold policies and procedures of the Aquarium
  • Coach and counsel Guest Services Staff as appropriate
  • Assist in drafting performance reviews


  • Prior supervisory experience of a services staff at an attraction, event space or like venue
  • Prior experience or knowledge of ticketing systems a plus
  • Available during all days of the week including weekends, holidays, and evening events
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office, Word, Excel)

Knowledge & Skills

  • Will have prior experience supervising a large team of services staff at an attraction or like venue, dedicated to outstanding service.
  • Prior experience or aptitude with institutional ticketing systems. Knowledge of Gateway Ticketing Systems a plus.
  • Experience operating high-volume theater, facilitating multiple turns per hour a plus.
  • Knowledge of cash handling
  • Prior experience recruiting and training staff to superior guest service standards.
  • Facilitate a collaborative work culture of the Aquarium of the Pacific.
  • Ability to multitask

  • Full functional range of motion in all major body joints from reaching, twisting, bending, simple and power gripping, fine and gross motor skills
