Our Family Volunteers are fantastic sets of parents and children, volunteering side-by-side in our education department. Together, they are engaging and interacting with the Aquarium’s guests, teaching them about the Pacific Ocean, its inhabitants, and ecosystems.
This program is designed for up to two children (ages seven to fifteen) to volunteer side-by-side with their parent(s) or legal guardian, once-a-week.
Children ages sixteen and older are considered individual volunteers and can apply through our Adult Volunteer program. At this time, our program does NOT allow family members who are not legal guardians (siblings, aunts, uncles, grandparents) to join the Family Volunteer program with nieces, nephews, grandchildren, etc.
Family Volunteers have a unique opportunity to engage guests of all ages and share their enthusiasm for the Pacific Ocean. It can be very inspiring for guests seeing family members working so closely together and sharing their passion. We often have new volunteers join who say it was meeting our dedicated Family Volunteers that inspired their decision to help out as well.
