Fish for a Day Grades K-2nd

In this kit, students focus on the special adaptations of fish and discover how they swim, breath, and protect themselves in the ocean.

Watch some of the Aquarium’s most colorful fish on the webcam to explore how fish use their special adaptations, then as a class design your very own digital fish on the interactive Build-a-fish application. Follow our silly characters Captain Joe and Scuba Shara in the “Fish for a Day” video as they compare a SCUBA diver’s equipment to the adaptations of a fish. The lesson plan offers suggestions on how to tie together each of the kit materials and promote class discussions and questions.
