2 pounds of squid
1 clove garlic, chopped
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 can whole tomatoes
2 cans tomato sauce
2 tablespoons Italian herbs
1 chopped onion
1/4 cup brandy/bourbon (optional)
2 cups mushrooms, sliced
1 cup white wine
Saute chopped garlic, onion, and herbs until golden brown.
Add mushrooms to saucepan and cook 2 minutes more.
Optional - For more flavor, add the brandy/bourbon.
Add squid to the saucepan and cook for 5 minutes.
Add tomato sauce and stir.
Cover and simmer for 10 minutes until squid is tender.
If too thick, add wine to sauce.
Serve with spaghetti.
