Visit Colorful Coral Reefs And Meet Animal Care Experts In Aquarium’s New Virtual Tour Of The Tropical Pacific Gallery

Tropical Pacific Gallery tours are offered Sundays at 12:45 p.m. starting December 27 and feature live interactions with the animals and their caretakers

January 5, 2021

WHAT: While the Aquarium of the Pacific is closed to the public in compliance with health orders for zoos and aquariums in our region, the institution is offering live virtual tours of its indoor galleries. Viewers can learn more about their favorite animals, see behind-the- scenes areas not currently open to the public, and meet the animal care experts and ask them questions.

Virtual tours of the Tropical Pacific Gallery are available on Sundays at 12:45 p.m. starting December 27. Reservations are available for $10 per household. Viewers will virtually dive into colorful coral reefs as they experience a guided tour of the gallery and see the Aquarium’s newest exhibit, Coral Reefs: Nature’s Underwater Cities. Because this exhibit was only open to the public for a brief time during the summer due to closures associated with the pandemic, the Aquarium is sharing it with the public now through this virtual tour. Viewers will hear from the animal experts, have the chance to ask questions, and see Sula, the red-footed booby, as she flies through the Tropical Tunnel.

The Aquarium also offers virtual tours of its Northern Pacific Gallery, featuring sea jellies, sea otters, and diving birds, on Saturdays at 1:30 p.m. The public can learn more or purchase tickets by calling (562) 590-3100 or visiting aquariumofpacific.org.

WHEN: Sundays starting December 27, 2020, 12:45 p.m.-1:30 p.m.

WHERE: Zoom link will be provided upon registration.

COST: $10 per household
