New Art Exhibit on View at the Aquarium Celebrates the Ocean and Marine Life

Journey to the tropical waters of Hawaii, teeming with marine life, as you explore ocean-themed art by painter John Enright.

August 7, 2019

From playful dolphins to awe-inspiring sharks, a new art exhibit at the Aquarium of the Pacific will be filled with ocean-themed paintings by John Enright inspired by his animal encounters in Hawaiian waters. The art exhibit will be on view at the Aquarium from August 19 through October 30 on the second floor landings outside the entrances to the Tropical and Northern Pacific Galleries. John Enright hopes that viewers of his artwork are inspired to become ocean stewards and protect marine life from pollution. He began painting seascapes and images of marine life after moving to Hawaii and encountering animals like whales, sharks, and sea turtles as a diver.

He studied at the ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, California. He later worked as an art director in advertising and in the music industry. Through his company Arctura Murals, he has coordinated and completed over four hundred murals for numerous international clients.
