Director, Seafood for the Future
In her role with Seafood for the Future, Kim Thompson works closely with various stakeholders in the seafood industry, including fishermen, aquaculture producers, distributors, chefs, and government and nongovernment agencies, among others, to promote responsible seafood choices, with an emphasis on well-managed local and environmentally responsible aquaculture sources.
Leveraging her experience and knowledge in messaging on responsible marine offshore aquaculture, she has co-written scripts for the Aquarium’s Coastal Conversations webcasts and NOAA’s Science on a Sphere program. Thompson has also participated in and hosted workshops and forums held at the Aquarium to facilitate dialogue about marine conservation and responsible seafood. Key areas of expertise include sustainable seafood, aquaculture, responsible fishing practices, and marine conservation.
