Education & Citizen Science Programs Coordinator
Jennifer Lentz is the Aquarium’s resident GIS (geographic information systems) expert and coordinates climate resilience outreach and education at the Aquarium.
She has a Ph.D. in oceanography and coastal sciences and specializes in how GIS and spatial analysis can be used to better understand coral health. Her work at the Aquarium focuses on building climate resilient communities and using citizen science to create more scientifically literate communities that are aware and actively engaged in local environmental issues. She also uses GIS to develop interactive ways to connect people of all ages to the ecology of the surrounding world. Her areas of expertise include climate and community resilience, citizen science, emergency preparedness, GIS, oceanography, marine science, environmental science, conservation, formal and informal education, outreach, and research.
