Daniel Munoz is the assistant curator in charge of Shark Lagoon and Southern California/Baja Gallery at the Aquarium of the Pacific.
He has maintained exhibits in all three of the Aquarium’s main galleries. Before joining the Aquarium of the Pacific in 2007, Munoz worked at the Miami Seaquarium in his home town of Miami, Florida, where he specialized in Caribbean species. During his six years there Munoz was also responsible for the manatee and sea turtle rescue and rehabilitation program. He is a graduate of Miami Dade College, where he earned a degree in biology. He has acquired a broad knowledge about the conservation and care of a variety of marine species of corals, seahorses, sharks, cephalopods, and tropical fish. Munoz is bilingual in English and Spanish and is a SCUBA-certified diver.
