Ocean Today Kiosk Opens
October 2008—In coordination with the September opening of the Sant Ocean Hall at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History in Washington, DC, the Aquarium of the Pacific has opened its own Ocean Today kiosk in the Northern Pacific Gallery.

Aquarium Announces Raffle Winner
October 28, 2008—Long Beach, CA The Aquarium of the Pacific is pleased to announce that Kathie Nash from Yorba Linda is the winner of the 2008 Honda Dream Big Raffle. Because of the support of American Honda Motor Co. Inc. and all those who purchased tickets, the Aquarium raised almost $70,000 towards its education and conservation programs.

Our Watersheds: Pathway to the Pacific
On November 15, 2008, the Aquarium will be opening its new watershed environmental exhibition, classroom, and native garden, Our Watersheds: Pathway to the Pacific. This exhibit gives visitors the opportunity to learn more about our local watersheds and what we can each do to protect them. It also teaches guests about sustainable water use options now and for the future.

Priming the Pump Forum
In September the Aquarium brought together water managers and others in Southern California to discuss how we will address losses to our water supply due to pumping restrictions to protect threatened species.

Aquarium of the Pacific Announces Zacharie Michael Arellano September as 10th Anniversary Scholar
September 22, 2008—The Aquarium of the Pacific is pleased to announce Zacharie Michael Arellano as its September 10th Anniversary Scholar for his excellence in academic achievement, citizenship, and community service. In celebration of its 10th anniversary, the Aquarium is honoring students in the community who have shown outstanding efforts in the areas of science, environment, ocean science/marine biology, promoting cultural diversity, and exceptional community service.
