Neighborhood Street Cleanup

Help Clean Up the Streets to Protect the Ocean

Helping to keep our ocean clean is but one of the myriad reasons why you should join the Aquarium of the Pacific's Green Team from 10:00 a.m. to noon on Saturday, February 6, for the Aquarium's eighth annual Neighborhood Street Cleanup at Cesar Chavez Park, located at 401 Golden Avenue, Long Beach, 90802.

Your assistance not only will help keep the ocean clean and safe for both humans and wildlife, but every participant will receive one free admission ticket to the Aquarium (valued at $23.95) and you will feel great about helping out in your community!

Unless picked up by caring, environmentally-minded citizens like you, the trash that ends up in our streets—whether at sea level or even as far away as the mountains—eventually ends up in the ocean where it not only pollutes the environment, but also can harm marine life.

This event is a chance to make a difference in your community and help marine life in the process. Won't you join the Aquarium's Green Team and help pick up trash? Bring along your family and friends, and community spirit. Trash bags, gloves, water, and a true spirit of camaraderie, will be provided. And don't forget to pick up your free Aquarium ticket, good for one year! For more information, please call (562) 590-3100, ext. 0.

Please note:
  • Children need to be supervised at all times. Please no babies in strollers, unless the adult attending to the child is NOT participating in the cleanup, but supervising other kids under the age of 12.
  • Student service credit will be given.
  • This event will take place in rain or shine. We are hoping for good weather, but the cleanup will happen either way. With rainy season coming, it is all the more important to make sure the streets are litter free.
