Long Beach Water Department, Aquarium Front Lawn

For the Long Beach Water Department (LBWD) , its commitment to provide, protect, and conserve our water is as immense as the challenge of climate variability and resource conservation. These are exciting times; the needs are real, the challenges are clear, and the opportunity to make a positive and lasting difference is before us. At an accelerating rate, the community is measuring the overall impact of their actions and searching out opportunities to be more efficient and more sustainable. The water shortage is at the forefront of a changing social and economic climate. During the Saturday of Earth Day Weekend on April 24, LBWD will take a look at water, as well as sustainability, green energy, and what's ahead in the years to come. The LBWD will feature 35 outdoor displays and will include a live band, activities for kids, and many local environmental organizations. This outdoor portion of the event is free to the public.
