This winter visit the Aquarium’s FROGS: Dazzling and Disappearing exhibit and enjoy festivals and discounted late nights.

In February visitors can meet Cain, a sea lion joining the other sea lions and harbor seals in the Aquarium’s Seals and Sea Lions Habitat. Cain is four years old and came to the Aquarium from another Association of Zoos and Aquariums-accredited facility. On February 8 Cain will move into an introduction area connected to the exhibit, so he can gradually be introduced to his new family of seals and sea lions.

The Aquarium will host Discounted Late Nights on February 17 and 18 in celebration of President’s Day weekend. After 5:00 p.m. on those dates admission is $14.95 for all ages, and the Aquarium is open until 8:00 p.m.

Festivals in January and February include Underwater Parks Day on January 20, which offers visitors the opportunity to learn more about Southern California’s marine protected areas and the commercial and recreational activities they host. The annual Festival of Human Abilities on January 27 and 28 celebrates the creative talents of people with disabilities. On February 24 and 25 experience the Aquarium’s African-American Festival, with performances by Mardi Gras second line dancers, hip hop and break dancers, jazz musicians, interactive drum circles, West African dancers, and storytellers.

Finally, be sure to visit the FROGS: Dazzling and Disappearing exhibit housed in the Tropical Pacific Gallery on the second floor. It traces the history of amphibians, details their life cycles, demonstrates the different environments they live in from deserts to rainforests, and highlights the diversity of species and their surprisingly uncertain future.
