Molina Healthcare will be honored at a luncheon celebrating National Philanthropy Day on November 13 hosted by the Greater Los Angeles Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. Nominated by the Aquarium of the Pacific, Molina Healthcare will be recognized with the award for Outstanding Company or Corporate Foundation.

Molina Healthcare has a long history of dedication to the Aquarium and its mission. The company contributed $2 million to help establish the Molina Animal Care Center, which opened in 2010. Molina Healthcare CEO Dr. J. Mario Molina served as chairman of the Aquarium’s Board of Directors from 2008 through 2010, and John Molina currently serves as the Board’s chairman. In addition, Therese Molina, Michelle Molina, Faustino and Martha Bernadett, Janet Watt, and Josephine Molina all serve as Trustees of the Pacific or support the Aquarium’s fundraising events.

In 2012 Molina Healthcare helped establish the Aquarium’s annual 5K Run/Walk to encourage health and fitness in the community. They are an ongoing sponsor of the 5K.
