Each year at the Aquarium of the Pacific’s International Children’s Day Festival, the Aquarium presents its Young Hero Award to a young person or group of young people under eighteen years of age in recognition of exceptional service to the community and efforts to make this planet a better place. This year, the Aquarium is seeking nominations for the award, which will be presented on Sunday, April 6.

Nominations can be sent to Peter Martineau, the Aquarium’s festival coordinator, by emailing .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). Include “Young Hero Nomination” and the nominee’s name in the subject line. Please include a biography of the person or group you are nominating, describing why you think they are deserving of the honor. Also, please include your own name, position, and relationship to the nominee, along with your email and phone number.

Please send your nomination by March 7, 2014. The Aquarium will notify the honorees by March 14. Nominees must be available to attend the ceremony to be eligible for the honor. The award ceremony is scheduled for Sunday, April 6, 2014, at 12:55 p.m. However, if the honoree is only available on Saturday, April 5, the Aquarium will try to accommodate hosting the Young Hero Award ceremony on that day instead.
