Aquarium Participates in LA’s Summer of Learning

Education

July 30, 2014

The Aquarium is participating in Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti’s Summer of Learning program. The program is encouraging students to gain experiences, explore new interests, and gain job skills. Students can earn badges and “level up.” By collecting all eight of the embosser stamps and completing the journal entry on page 29 of the Aquarium’s visitor guide, kids can earn the Aquarium Explorer Badge. They turn their visitor guide in at the Info Desk to receive a claim code, which can be redeemed online.

The Summer of Learning started on July 7 and ends on September 30. This program helps students and families to experience learning outside of the classroom in a fun, self-guided manner, making science and conservation subjects approachable and engaging. It also encourages families to visit and explore the many cultural and educational institutions Los Angeles has to offer.
