Sharky the Shark, Summer the Sea Otter, and Lori the Lorikeet bird will decide who will be the first American Niño. To participate in this contest, parents are invited to submit a video (either DVD or VHS) that showcases their child’s extraordinary talent whether in singing, dancing, or playing a musical instrument—the sky’s the limit. |

ExhibitsMarch 22, 2007Aquarium Opens New Exhibit Shorebird SanctuaryOn March 30, 2007 the Aquarium of the Pacific opens its newest exhibit Shorebird Sanctuary. Designed to resemble a tidal wetland, such as Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve in Huntington Beach, California, this exhibit features native vegetation as well as estuarine fishes and shore and migratory birds, including Black-necked Stilts, Black-bellied Plovers, Snowy Plovers, and Ruddy Ducks. Tidal wetlands are habitats for a rich variety of wildlife and serve as vital stopover places for many migratory birds. |
