Lecture date: October 12, 2016. Artist Gail Wight discussed how topics in biology—like deep time, species diversity, extinction, and the forces of weather on habitat—drive her studio practice.
Wight is an artist who works in new media and often incorporates themes of biology, neurology, and technology into her work. She has a bachelor’s degree from the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston, and a master’s of fine art from the San Francisco Art Institute. Her work is in the collections of Yale University, Stanford University, and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
