Look no further than the Aquarium of the Pacific for your commercial filming and photography needs. We provide a wide range of backdrops at one convenient location. We’re located on the picturesque Rainbow Harbor waterfront in Long Beach, California, only thirty minutes from Los Angeles—within the 30-mile Los Angeles studio zone. Home to over 12,000 animals from large sharks to colorful tropical fish, the Aquarium has more than 100 indoor and outdoor exhibits ranging from a three-story tall kelp exhibit to a tropical tunnel. We also feature exhibits with underwater communication systems for divers.

We offer interactive animal opportunities with sharks, sea lions, colorful birds, and even land animals from snakes to spiders. In addition, our location features behind-the-scenes pump and filtration areas that make excellent backdrops for chase scenes, a “mad scientist” area with bubbling vats, a cafeteria and a café setting with an ocean view, 175-person movie theater, a 50-person classroom, and more.

We have expertise working with productions of all sizes, including feature film, television commercials, television series, fashion photo shoots, music videos, corporate advertisements, documentaries, and more. The Aquarium also employs experts in a multitude of professions to help with your production from script research with biologists to technical scouts with our lighting/facilities team.
