Science on a Sphere Shows

View the Aquarium's Science on a Sphere shows on the SOS Explorer app created by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

The Aquarium has created several shows for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) Science on a Sphere, a system that displays NOAA datasets, such as global sea surface temperature, satellite views of storm systems, and other visualizations on a 6 foot-diameter sphere. The Aquarium’s shows are displayed on a Science on a Sphere located in its Ocean Science Center.

The Aquarium’s shows that are available in the SOS Explorer app include:

  • Aquaculture
  • Extreme Weather
  • Fukushima and Our Radioactive Ocean
  • The Only Thing that is Constant is Change
  • Resilient Cities: Key to Thriving on a Changing Planet
  • The Story of El Nino
  • The World’s Water

To view the shows and NOAA datasets, download the SOS Explorer app and find the titles in the list on the left side of the screen.
