David Helvarg
Author David Helvarg will share the history, culture, and changing nature of California’s coasts and ocean. He will discuss his book, The Golden Shore, which examines the spirit of the Californian coast, its mythic place in American culture, and the state’s connection with the sea. Helvarg is the executive director of Blue Frontier Campaign, editor of the Ocean and Coastal Conservation Guide, and a former journalist and war correspondent.
