Salmon Reproduction and the Effects of a Commonly Used Pesticide

Kristy Forsgren has studied the reproduction of Central Valley steelhead salmon that migrate through the San Francisco Bay Estuary and Sacramento-San Joaquin Valley. In her lecture she will discuss the effects of compounds like pesticides introduced by humans into the aquatic environment and potential risks to wildlife. Forsgren is an assistant professor in the department of biological science at California State University, Fullerton. Previously she was a staff biologist at the Aquarium of the Pacific, where she played a role in the first successful breeding and rearing of weedy seadragons in captivity.
