A summer ocean adventure awaits!

Explore the Pacific Ocean and its inhabitants during our weeklong summer day camp adventures.

Campers will get the chance to go behind the scenes, meet animal care staff, and help us take care of some of the animals. Each Ocean Adventure Camp week is a different program.

Ages: Grades 2-4. MUST be at least 7 years old due to behind the scenes access.
Offered: July 29-August 2, 2013
Times:
Full Day: 8:00 a.m.-5:00 pm. Monday-Friday
Half Day: 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. OR 1:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.

Week 3 will cover the following topics (subject to change without notice):

Morning Highlights include:

• Feed baby sharks & rays.*
• Learn how to care for fish by building a mini aquarium.
• Observe sea stars move in an intriguing sea star race.
• Visit and paint a wetland with watercolors.
• Observe brine shrimp grow in a weeklong experiment.
• Animal touch time in our private classroom touch pools.

Afternoon Highlights include:

• Discover what the insides of a real crayfish look like.
• Go behind the scenes to feed an endangered animal, the abalone.*
• Participate in an activity that illustrates the dangers of oil spills to animals.
• Investigate Shark skin under the microscope.
• Learn how animal partnerships work first hand through a series of games.
• Animal touch time in our private classroom touch pools.

Not Included:

• Snacks (Parents, please provide 1 snack for your child for ½ day and 2 snacks for full day)
• Lunch (Parents, please provide a lunch for full day)

*The Aquarium reserves the right to change the animal interactions without notice due to animal safety, exhibit maintenance, or animal health reasons.

Note: Due to behind-the-scenes access and game time, we ask that your child wear comfortable closed-toe shoes everyday. Please avoid sandals and flip-flops.
