This documentary explores the untold story of the real Gidget, Kathy Kohner Zuckerman, whose life inspired the 1959 Gidget movie and launched a nation’s passion for surfing. Surf legends, modern day surfer girls, and famous actors along with Kathy weave an entertaining true story of a young girl coming of age—and how a somewhat idealized version of that girl became a true American icon. A Q&A with Kathy and Producer Brian L. Gillogly will follow the film screening.
