Original artwork, reflecting one of the seven Essential Principles of Ocean Literacy, will be submitted to CELCs (Coastal Ecosystem Learning Centers) around the country to complete in regional competitions.
Coastal America and the Aquarium of the Pacific invite your students to participate in this year’s Ocean Art Contest. Original artwork, reflecting one of the seven Essential Principles of Ocean Literacy, will be submitted to CELCs (Coastal Ecosystem Learning Centers) around the country to complete in regional competitions. Winners from each CELC, including the Aquarium of the Pacific) will then compete in a national competition with the chance to win a trip to Washington DC in Spring 2012. Please see guidelines for details regarding submissions. We’re looking forward to seeing Aquarium of the Pacific winners on display in DC!
Students in the following age categories are welcome to submit work:
- K-2
- 3-5
- 6-8
- High School
- Full-time college and university
Submission deadline: January 15, 2012 to the Aquarium of the Pacific
Requirements:
- 2-D (flat surface)
- Not to exceed 20” X 32” and not to exceed ¼ thick
- No glass or frames please

Art may also be dropped of at the Aquarium during the week between 2:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

- Artist’s full name
- Grade
- Contact address and phone number
- Teacher’s or home facilitator’s name
- School
- Up to 150 word narrative explaining the selection of the selected Ocean Literacy principles
