A new dance media project about the ocean and climate change
Ocean is a collaboration of artists, scientists, educators, and presenters working to expand perspectives and contribute original solutions to the challenges facing one of the Earth’s most critical resources. OCEAN explores changing issues such as ocean chemistry, storm patterns, extinction of species, the food web, respect for ancient knowledge about sustainable practices, and options for the future. The piece is inspired by filmed interviews with renowned ocean scientists about the impact of human activity on our world ocean.
Since 1997 SpectorDance Company has presented dance media works that celebrate its local heritage, with a signature style of blending music, spoken word, and visual media with dance. SpectorDance works have received local, statewide, and national recognition.
Choreographed by Fran Spector Atkins, this performance includes music and video projection.
