Ocean GEMS (Girls Explore Marine Science) is a multimedia series and outreach program that connects girls to women marine scientist role models to inspire ocean science adventures, inquiries, and careers. Join Ocean GEMS host Danni Washington as she shares stories about her adventure in Ecuador with Dr. Andrea Marshall and their encounter with giant manta rays. Attendees will learn about the positive impact women marine scientists are making on the field of ocean sciences and conservation around the world.
Danni Washington is a passionate oceans advocate and science communicator. She earned a bachelor’s of science degree in marine science/biology from the University of Miami Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science.
